Announcing our new Executive Director, Champlain Hospice Palliative Care Program




Following the notice of Jocelyne Contant’s retirement, I am pleased to announce the selection of Mr.
Célestin Abedi as the new Executive Director of the Champlain Hospice Palliative Care Program.

Through his work in mental health within the Champlain health system, Mr. Abedi brings a strong
dedication to collaboration, to a high standard of care and to improving integration.

Célestin Abedi is an international medical graduate from Université de Kinshasa with equivalency in Québec. He also holds an executive MBA from the University of Ottawa and a Masters in Public Health from “Université Laval”. For the last 10 years, he has been coordinating and managing the development and the implementation of the Champlain Mental Health Crisis Program in the United Counties of Prescott and Russell.

Mr. Abedi is a seasoned manager whose competencies have been demonstrated both in Canada and in Africa. He focuses on results and shows extensive experience in managing multidisciplinary teams and developing solid partnerships while working in rapidly changing environments. Further, he has the advantage of experience in overseeing the delivery of primary care programs, including chronic diseases.

We look forward to working with Mr. Abedi in furthering hospice palliative care in the Champlain region.
